On 2 June 2023, ‘Festa della Repubblica’, Italy’s Republic Day, we were invited by our Lucchese friends to visit the Tuscan towns of Bolgheri and Bibbona. These are two new towns in the Tuscany area that we can now tick off our list. We had a wonderful day together and recommend both places highly!

Bibbona, Tuscany: sun, sand and serenity – exploring seaside delights …
Bibbona is a beautiful seaside town located in the province of Livorno in Tuscany, Italy. Nestled between the vibrant cities of Livorno and Cecina, Bibbona enjoys an ideal location that combines the beauty of the Tuscan countryside with the allure of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Best known for its long stretches of pebbled beaches and crystal-clear waters, it attracts many tourists during the summer months.
The town has a long and rich history, and visitors can explore the ancient Etruscan ruins that can be found in the area. There are also several historic landmarks, such as the Church of Santa Maria della Pieta and the Castle of Bibbona, which are also worth a visit; however, we ran out of daylight hours, so we’ll have to visit them next time.
